Currently I am part of a group exhibition titled Some Abstraction Required that is being hosted by the Spartanburg Art Museum.  The opening reception was held on April 21st and the show continues until June 12th.

They describe the exhibition as, “…a group exhibition featuring the work of nine contemporary artists. Viewers are challenged to consider science and mathematics in conjunction with the visual arts. This exhibition displays a variety of mixed media techniques, including painting, collage, altered books, epoxy clay, and site-specific installation. Some of the themes addressed by the objects include the duality of chance and precision, mathematical systems and patterns, and altering the viewer’s perception of space.”

Participating artists include:  Orr Ambrose, Timmy Graham, Michael Marks II, Allan Rosenbaum, Mark Rumsey, Andi Steele, Margi Weir and Jonathan Whitfill

Here are few photos from the opening reception.
