Bottle Cap – relief block

As promised from the previous post, Cigarette Butt – relief block, I would share some of the work I was doing while the 2014 Working Artist in Residence at Tiger Lily Press.  In this follow-up post I thought to share my bottle cap relief block.  I pre-flattened your standard steel bottle caps with a hammer before I could run them through the press.  The flattened caps were then mounted to mat board for printing.  I then inked the block using my favorite relief ink, Graphic Chemical water soluble lamp black.  You can see the finished print in the last image.
