Cigarette Butt – relief block

Occasionally I plan on sharing some images of the work that I created while the Working Artist in Residence at Tiger Lily Press.  The images below show the creation of a relief block from discarded cigarette butts that I have been collecting over time.  They were first adhered to a cardboard backer board for support.  Once I had the final composition of the items arranged they were coated with a clear matte gesso to increase their durability.  You can see the final print Circular Reasoning below-last image.
